Data export#
Download Selection#
The 'Download Selection' allows users to compile a custom set of strains and fields to download in csv format.
It works similarly to a shopping cart of an online shop. The user starts out with an empty cart, can add to it while browsing the site, and the go to the checkout, the 'Download Selection' area, to download data for the collected strains.

At the start of a session the user's download selection is empty
Adding strains to the selection#
The user can add strains to their selection (cart) using several of BacDive's search tools. Strains are selected by individually checking the box next to their entry in the respective search results or and selected strains can be added to the download selection by clicking the Add selection button.

CSV Output#
The downloaded csv file contains several sections. For each strain, there is one data section, which contains multiple lines if more than one entry is available for the strain in any of the selected data fields, and one reference section. For each exported data field, a separate ID_reference field gives the source for the information in the next column. The respective references are listed in the reference section below.

Export from the Advanced Search#
Advanced Search results can be downloaded as csv files. The downloaded csv files contain each hit as a row with the default columns (BacDive) ID, designation, strain_number, is_type_strain, and species. The searched fields are present as additional columns.
